Weʼre raising £10,000 to donate to Ark of the World charity (Kivotos Tou Kosmou). Providing special care and protection to mothers and children in need.
The «Ark of the World» is a Charitable Nonprofit Organisation providing special care and protection to mothers and children.
It is first and foremost intended and addressed to young unprotected children, most of whom come from single-parent families, and to many children without parents, who experience difficult circumstances, neglect, abandonment, lack of medical care and uncertain future.
The Ark fully covers and takes care of unprotected children. In collaboration with Prosecutors for Children, protection agencies and services for children’s rights, it undertakes to raise children in its four (at present) accommodation homes. They are children (infanthood to adulthood) who have been subjected to abuse, neglect and very bad living conditions. Children live in large homes with instructors and care givers for their everyday life, like a large family, without any reminders of institutional care.
Ark of the world is situated in the company’s homeland of Greece.
We believe that going above and beyond to make a difference to the life of another and fulfilling a lifetime goal are things that everyone should have the opportunity to do, so as a company we have sponsored this opportunity for those that wished to sign up.
A group of employees who had signed themselves up for the challenge have been selected at random and will take on the challenge of trekking for three days in Iceland this coming November. Their Names are Stavroula Elmaloglou and Georgia Trimandylis and Eftychia Papageorgiou.
During each days trekking, the challenge will see them brave the cold and elements of Iceland in winter which can at times be an extremely harsh environment, trekking in southern Iceland through geothermal valleys and mountain terrain will be a chllenge they will never forget in aid of a fantastic and humbling cause. The group will be sleeping in huts miles from any towns, hopefully they will be rewarded with sights of the stunning Northern Lights for all their hard work, training and preparation in raising money for this very worthwhile cause.
The group will be led by a leading company which has been around since 1994, has taken over 60,000 participants on challenges since then and collectively they have raised over 85 million pounds for different causes.
With all of the above, we truly hope that you are able support Stavroula, Georgia and Eftychia and donate to what we believe is a very worthwhile cause in helping these mothers and children live a life away from the traumatic life that they have be dealt.
